The Lord’s Inconvenient Vow by Lara Temple

The Lords Inconvenient Vow UK Cover

‘I have a favour to ask…

I want you to marry me.’

Part of The Sinful Sinclairs. Samantha Sinclair was always Lord Edgerton’s complete opposite. But as Edge meets Sam again in Egypt, it’s clear the years have changed her as much as him. So when she blurts out an impulsive, convenient proposal, Edge’s protective urge compels him to accept. Is it possible for two such different people to be together and find the happiness they both deserve?

Absolutely amazing

I can’t fully find the words to describe how much I loved this book but will give it a go!

When I read The Rakes Enticing Proposal I became hooked on Lara Temples work and desperately wanted to find out Sam’s story

Sam or Samantha Sinclair is an amazing artist and illustrator to one of the most popular series out there, The Desert Boys. Having spent large parts of her childhood travelling round with her eccentric family, Sam found that Egypt was where she was drawn back to again and again, as both a child and as an adult

Edge or Lord Edward Edgerton was a friend of Sam’s brothers and saved her from many a scrape!

Sam and Edge are an amazing pairing who I adored from the beginning, Sam is just so full of life and I loved reading her story which I was desperately hoping for since the end of the last book in the series! She knows what she wants and although she can be a bit nervous, will go out and get it, even when Edge tries to block her out she doesn’t allow it and always challenges him

Edge has been hiding his feeling for so long that he has developed almost a poker face and it is quite fun to see Sam getting annoyed with him whilst trying to figure out what he’s thinking!

The writing is superb and it drew me in from the first page, the descriptions of Egypt back when it was first being discovered by Westerners and the uncovering of some of the tombs and discovery of artifacts is a brilliant backdrop to the story. I have never been to Egypt but based on this series I really want to go visit and feel the history and the amazement of the characters as well as explore. I do however suspect that they may be a bit stricter about climbing on the artifacts now than they were in Sam’s time! I also didn’t want to put it down, the story pulled me in and almost wrapped tendrils round me to stop me from being away from it for too long…

There is a good split of dialogue between Sam and Edge which helped to understand their thoughts, feelings and actions, although some I did guess a bit early on given their interactions!

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants an engaging read that pulls the reader with characters who spark off each other and a fabulous setting
