Teo is a duke and is haughty, uppity and obsessed with his position
Amelia was his stepsister for a few years but her mother moved on and they didn’t see each other again until a masquerade ball that Amelia snuck into as she couldn’t get teo out of her head. It leads to her becoming pregnant and both of their lives changing.
I went through stages where I was so annoyed with both teo and Amelia that I almost hated them but they were well written enough for me to be able to forgive them and accept why there were the way they were
There were also sections were they both endeared themselves to me and as the story progresses this did increase.
By the end I found myself actually quite liking Amelia, she knows what she believes in and what she wants but is she afraid to take it?
It did really pull on the Cinderella story and literally had me rolling my eyes at times it was so cinderellary!
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy fairy tales and breaking through defences and positions to fight for what they want
