The Return of the Disappearing Duke by Lara Temple

The Return Cover Disappearing Duke

A scarred mercenary…Or the Disappearing Duke of Greybourne?

Rafe has spent years running from his true identity. He’s a lone wolf, living far from aristocratic England and his violent father. Then unconventional Cleopatra Osbourne requests his protection as she crosses the Egyptian desert. In Cleo he discovers a fellow outcast—and a fierce desire! Cleo must return to London, and here lies Rafe’s dilemma—because following his heart means claiming the title he’s avoided for so long!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When I saw that I could have the opportunity to review this book I couldn’t say no and it was as brilliant as I knew it would be
Cleo is in trouble, her brother is missing and she is being chased through Egypt by people intent on harming her but then she meets mercenary Rafe who promises to get her to safety
I liked Cleo, she is so independent and isn’t sure about Rafe even though he promised to help her. Even then she can’t stop herself trusting him and believing what he says. She is also determined to make sure her brother is safe and ok and her mad dash through Egypt is to find him
I totally adored Rafe, he kept his word to Cleo and would do anything to make sure she was safe. He is so protective of her web though her independence tries to stop him at every turn! Rafe does have a secret however, he is the missing Duke of Greybourne but he just wants to be himself and lives as Rafe Grey although as he gets closer to Cleo he realises that he may have to tell her the truth of who he is
This book follows on from the Sinclair series and is absolutely fabulous. I loved the descriptions of Egypt and the drama of their race across the country with potential danger round every turn. Rafe and Cleo developed so much throughout as well but their main characteristics were clear from the beginning, keeping Cleo safe and helping her  as well as their independence and the importance of being who they are
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a historical romance full of drama with characters who have their own secrets but who you will love within pages!
